5 Days Gorilla Safari

Day 1. Meet your driver guide at Entebbe international airport and drive to the guest house in Entebbe town for a night.

Day 2.After briefing, drive westwards and straight to Bwindi impénétrable national park. It’s a drive on an all weather road which may take you around nine hours. After arriving, you may take an hour’s rest and after, go for a short walk around the self guided trail or in the community. You could spot the terrestrial l’Hoest’s monkeys, duikers and several bird species in about an hour an a half. By doing this, you are also preparing your self for the next day’s challenge.

Day 3. Wake up early morning, and after your breakfast, get ready for a full day life time gorilla experience. Dress in nature blending colours(not a guarantee), rain gear, hiking shoes, packed lunch, a minimum of one and a half litres of water and then proceed to the visitors’ information centre for briefing. You will be taken through a short back ground of the park, gorilla rules, and the dos and donts when you are in the park. Bwindi is a tropical forest and it is normally wet and the fact it is thick and mountaineous, it’s sometimes challanging to maneuver through with little experience and due to this fact, we encourage you to hire porters to help carry your laggage, pull and push you whenever it is time. Hiring a porter is also one way of supporting the community and gorilla conservation because it’s the people surrounding the park that normally ensure the health and well being of the gorillas. You will be escorted by armed rangers to scare away charging elephants in case, led by your ranger guide and after a successful tracking, you will be asked to come back to your starting point for a graduation ceremony. We normally guarantee success to all of our clients because whenever the journey gets tougher, we have a technical team on ground which will organize for an African helicopter. This can be arranged even from the beginning of the trip for our clients who may have difficulties in movement. Stay overnight.

Day 4. We have a full day to relax but may decide to do a forest walk. You will visit the waterfalls or any other of the park’s trails and also feel the breeze from a well grown up forest with trees of over 150 years. This walk also anables you to see numerous pretty butterflies as well as bird species, some being endemic to the Albertine rift région. The other option is to visit the communities. It should be remembered that several tribes leave in the forest’s neighborhood including the pygmies, whose ancestry roots from the forest. You will be brought to their history and culture which is also an amazing activity to opt for.

Day 5. Drive back to Kampala after having your breakfast, drive for about seven hours to the equator where you will have a stop over and proceed to the airport for your outbound flight.
